PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy and efficiency of machining of small parts such as parts for a watch, by setting the heights of a grinding passage that is defined by a grinding table and the grinding end surface of a grind stone such that the height on the side of the entrance thereof for a work is lower than the height on the side of the exit. CONSTITUTION:The axis C of the grinding wheel 9 is inclined by an angle alpha with a line V perpendicular to the upper surface 20 of the grinding table 2, and the height of the grinding passage 22 on the side of the entrance 23 for the work W is slightly higher than the height of the grinding passage 22 on the side of the exit 24 to make the grinding passage have prescribed heights. According to this arrangement, the work W that is fed to the grinding passage 22 by a conveying belt 3 can enter smoothly between the table 2 and the grinding wheel 9, is ground during its passage through the grinding passage 22, and is sent out from the exit 24. Accordingly, a small part can be ground highly efficiently and precisely. |
