PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and flexibility of a photoreceptor, by providing a photosensitive layer containing a specified disazo compound as an effective component, such as photoconductor or charge generating substance, on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor is made by forming on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer containing as an effective component a disazo compound expressed by general formula (1) in which A is formula (2), (3). The photoreceptor is formed by providing on the conductive substrate (a) a photosensitive layer of a disazo compound-resin binder system, (b) that of a disazo compound-charge transfer medium system, or (c) that of a laminated layer of a charge generating layer composed mainly of the disazo compound, and a charge transfer layer. The disazo compound can be easily prepared by reacting tetrazonium salt obtained by tetrazotizing 2,7-diamino-9-acridone through an ordinary process, with a corresponding coupler in a proper organic solvent. |
