PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of information processing system, by checking the presence/absence of a failure in a calling function, when an unattended terminal has the calling function to the center. CONSTITUTION:An information processing center DPC transmits a data for calling check to, e.g., a terminal TM1 when the connection to the terminal is finished and opens the line after the transmission of data. When the terminal TM1 receives the data for the calling check, a processor MPU interpretes the data and recognizes a calling flag. Further, off-hook is made at the terminal TM1 and the number of the center DPC is transmitted with automatic dial to give calling start to the DPC. The end of connection to the center DPC is known with a conventional step and a data for calling check is transmitted. Then, the center DPC confirms the data and returns the confirming number. Thus, the terminal TM completes the calling operation and off-hook is made. |
