<p>PURPOSE:To prevent damage of the cutter member and the driving member of a printer by providing a safety device to protect the driving mechanism during abnormal loading at the time of cutting recording paper and a forced return device that enables sure movement of the cutter. CONSTITUTION:If a foreign object 15 hits a cutter 1 when it and a fixed edge 5 are in crossed state, the cutter 1 moves in the direction of the arrow A, so that it goes out of engagement with a mounting shaft 2 against the compressing pressure of a release spring 6 with the foreign object 15 as a fulcrum, and a cutter driving lever 8 becomes capable of moving by its engagement with the outer diameter section of a driving cam 10 and prevents damage and breakage. Next, if the cutter does not return to a stand-by state with the force of a return spring 4 because of abnormal load to the cutter 1, the driving cam 10 rotates in the direction of the arrow C, and the 8-1 section of the driving lever 8 and the smallest diameter section of the driving cam 10 do not engage. Further, with rotation of the driving cam in the direction of the arrow C, the largest diameter section of the driving cam engages the 8-2 section of the cutter driving lever 8 and forcibly rotates the cutter driving lever 8 in the direction of the arrow B to return the cutter 1 to the stand-by position.</p> |
