PURPOSE:To improve the thermal efficiency of an end burning furnace by providing burners which are blocated on one side of through grooves and radiate flames in the direction from the outlet part toward the inlet part and which are located on the other side of the through-grooves and radiate flames in the direction intersecting approximately orthogonally with the transfer direction of objects to be heated. CONSTITUTION:When objects (a) to be heated are transferred by a transfer means 6, they are transferred successively at prescribed speeds from an inlet part 2 toward an outlet part 3 while their end parts (b) penetrate through a through-groove 5 and project to the inside of a furnace body 1, then these are heated by the flames of the burners 7, 9. Here, the objects (a) are heated not only by the radiation from the flames but by the radiation from the furnace walls and infurnace atmosphere as well. Since the burner 9 is provided near the end part of the outlet part 3 side, the part 3 and the groove 5 near the same are sealed effectively by the air curtain effect of the flames, and the infurnace pressure is increased, whereby the inclusion of the atmospheric air into the furnace is prevented and thermal efficiency is improved. |
