<p>PURPOSE:To easily accomplish the change-over of ordinary character and enlarged character by a command from a processing system wherein the frequency of a shift clock is selected 2<n> times larger the reading out clock of a character generator and a character pattern is repeatedly read out by 2<n> times. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a character 2 times larger a 7X7 dot character, for instance, n=1 is used, and continuous address information of a character pattern memory composed of 14 scanning lines is sent out. When all bits of an address information sent out from a read-out control unit 4 are shifted in the direction from upper to lower by n bits at an address conversion unit 7 by a signal from a double size timing control unit 6 and the lower n bits are disregarded, the same address information is repeatedly generated by the address conversion unit 7 by 2<n> times. Due to this, the pattern information of the same address is repeatedly read out by 2<n> times. By this method, a character pattern in the vertical direction can be proportionally enlarged by 2<n> times by using a standard character pattern memory.</p> |
