PURPOSE:To perform a computer input of a facsimile signal which is transmitted as an analog signal, by transmitting a facsimile signal to a computer as a digital signal after the data compression and restoration and modulation and demodulation of the facsimile. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile terminal (not shown) and a facsimile communication device 1 are connected to a host computer (HCPU)2 with lines. First, a GI signal indicating either function of G1 or G2 is transmitted to the HCPU 2 from the device 1. Next, a synchronizing signal and a picture signal are transmitted from a facsimile terminal and demodulated into a digital signal at a demodulation circuit 16 and introduced to a register 20 and converted into a parallel signal from a serial signal. This parallel signal is inputted to an ACIA 23 in, e.g., 8-bit unit through the control of an MPU 22, a start-stop synchronizing signal is added and the transmission of picture signal data can be performed to the HCPU2. |
