PURPOSE:To obtain transmission current pulses having a short time width, by connecting the parallel connection of a rectifier and a resistor in series to the transmitting coil in a transmitting circuit to consume the energy, which is stored in the transmitting coil, by the resistor. CONSTITUTION:When electric charge is stored into a capacitor 3 from a high- voltage DC power source 1 through a charging resistor 2, a switch 4 is closed to start discharge, and a current io is flowed to a transmitting coil 6. When discharge is terminated, energy L.dia/dt stored in the transmitting coil 6 with an inductance L flows a current in the reverse direction, and a counter electromotive force is generated in the transmitting coil 6, and a current ib is flowed in the reverse direction of the current ia for a time tb and is flowed into the capactitor 3 through a resistor 7 and the switch 4, and electric charge Qa is stored. The peak value of the current ib is a smaller value than the conventional peak value because energy L.dia/dt stored in the transmitting coil 6 is almost consumed by the resistor 7. The air break gap switch 4 is opened for this electric charge Qb. |
