PURPOSE:To execute effectively the X-ray diffraction measurement of a metallic strip throughout its breadthwise direction, by bending and running the metallic strip along the arc surface of a roll body where a spiral groove is provided on the outside circumference. CONSTITUTION:A spiral groove 20 is provided on the outside circumference of a guide roll 16 which is fixed to a royal shaft 18 through an attaching flange 17, and a gap g' corresponding to the width and the depth of this spiral groove 20 is used as an optical path. A cross arm supporting member 21, a guide rail 22, crossarms 23 and 24, and a rail 25 constitute a moving means, and an X-ray source 11 and an X-ray detector 12 fixed in prescribed position by crossarms 23 and 24 are moved laterally along the axis of the guide roll 16 synchronously with the motion of the spiral groove accompanied with the rotation of the guide roll 16 while keeping the positional relation to a material to be examined, thus executing the X-ray diffraction of a strip 1 throughout its breadthwise direction. Thus, the X-ray analysis is achieved in on-line quickly with high precision. |
