PURPOSE:To reduce gas leak from an external combustion engine by integrally incorporating a combustion gas generator with a rotary valve. CONSTITUTION:A solid explosive powder 4 in an innner cylinder 1 is ignited and burnt by an ignition unit 2 upon engine starting for generating gas which is transferred into the cylinders of a multi-cylinder engine, sequentially, through the jet port of a rotary valve 6 secured to and integrally rotated with the inner cylinder 1, thereby the engine is driven. Liquid fuel is fed from a pipe 15 after the completion of combustion of the solid explosive powder 4 for sustaining the combustion. The inner cylinder 1 has at its end part a gear and is, therefore, integrally rotated with a cooling cylinder 10 which is rotated from the outside, so that the rotary valve 6 is synchroneously rotated with the engine. Particularly in the engine, the inner cylinder 1 and the rotary valve 6 are secured together so that they are integrally rotated, thereby no gas is appreciated from their connection. |
