PURPOSE:To prevent the irregularity of a development, by developing while inclusion of bubbles of inactive gas into a developer in the process of a physical development after exposing an image forming layer contg. a compound generating a metallic development after being reduced and a compound having a diazo group or an azido group on a supporting material. CONSTITUTION:An image forming material A formed of an image forming layer 2 in which a compound generating a metallic developing nucleus upon reduction such as PdCl2 etc. and a compound having a diazo group or an azido group are dispersed or dissolved in a hydrophilic binder such as PVA etc. on a supporting material 1, is prepared. The material A is brought into contact with a solution contg. a reducing agent such as SnCl2 etc. and HCl and to form a developing nucleus, and then, after a transparent original 3 is stuck and exposed (expressed by arrows), it is developed with a physical developer contg. NiSO4 etc. and sodium hypophosphite, and at this time it is developed while blowing an inactive gas such as N2 etc. to the developer. By removing bubbles of the inactive gas together with bubbles of H2 gas stuck on the developed surface, an image 2B having good resolving power without generating an irregular development is obtained. |
