In dishwashers with an upper basket (14) which is intended for holding items to be washed and can be moved in terms of the level at which it is positioned, a particular system is provided for feeding washing liquid to a washing arm (12) arranged on the upper basket. Arranged between the water pipe (10), serving to transport the liquid to the basket, and a conduit (23), connected to the washing arm, is an adaptable connecting device which offers a plurality of connection possibilities which are associated with different operating positions of the basket on several selectable levels in the washing compartment. <IMAGE>
