AQUEOUS ZEOLITE SLURRY COMPOSITION WITH SUPERIOR SUSPENSION STABILITY AND FLUIDITY

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled slurry composition with permanently low kinematic viscosity and superior suspension stability by violently agitating a wet cake of specified zeolite under shear in the presence of a dispersant. CONSTITUTION:A wet cake of fine particles of zeolite having <=1mum primary particle size measured by an electron microscope method and 35-75% crystallinity measured by an X-ray method is slurrified. The preferred zeolite is A type zeolite having >=100mg/g CaO exchange capacity on the basis of anhydride. To the resulting slurry are added a water soluble alkali metallic salt such as sodium sulfate by about 0.05-1wt% of the amount of the zeolite and CMC by about 0.1-7wt%, and they are violently agitated under shear with a colloid mill or the like to obtain an aqueous zeolite slurry composition having 35-55wt% concn. of solid matter on the basis of anhydride and kinematic viscosity satisfying relation represented by the equation (where C is the concn. of solid matter and eta is Ford cup viscosity at 20 deg.C).
