PURPOSE:To reduce crosstalk and to keep balance of characteristics of two heads by forming a coil and a lead electrode symmetrically to the right and left on a base in a thin film magnetic head of the 2-channel form. CONSTITUTION:A coil 2 each is formed on a ferrite base 1 or the like symmetrically to the right and left while the winding direction is reversed, a yoke 5 constituting an upper magnetic substance layer is formed in the state that the yoke is prolonged to the magnetic recording medium slide face side over the coil 2 from a contact hole being the center of the coil and the tip of the yoke 5 forms a magnetic gap 6. Magnetic recording is attained by flowing a current between lead electrodes 3, 4, magnetic flux produced from the magnetic recording medium side flows via a gap 6, a voltage in response to the change in the magnetic flux is produced between the lead electrodes 3 and 4, and the magnetic recording is reproduced. The distribution of the coils and the electrodes is equal to the right and left so as to improve the high frequency balance of the two heads. |
