The fixture is intended for securing an identification load or plate or the like, e.g. to a pipeline. It comprises a carrier (A) with approximately M-shaped (1-3) cross-section and front flanges (4,5) to engage parallel L-sections on the rear face of the plate, and means (D,E) to secure this carrier to the pipe to be marked. These means comprise a clamp ship (25) and a clamp screw (E) or the like to tension this strip around the pipe after its ends (17,18) have been passed through slots 16 in the rear of the carrier. The carrier may, alternatively, be secured, e.g. by a screw, to a separate element fixed to the pipe by a strip in the manner described.
