<p>For the remelting hardening of a cam-shaft (5), a plasma arc welding apparatus (2) is used, wherein the plasma jet (4) is deviated by means of an electromagnet (7) which surrounds the outlet channels (3). The plasma jet, of which the oscillations cooperate with a driving device (9) for rotatingly driving the cam-shaft, forms a winding pass (6) as a remelting trace on the cams. The oscillating frequency is regulated as a function of the desired penetration depth (l) of the surface to be hardened and as a function of the intensity (I) of the plasma jet, by means of a control device (10). </p> |
