PURPOSE:To miniaturize a memory for a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion dictionary, etc. and also to improve the processing efficiency of KANA/KANJI conversion, by providing a RAM area for priority information, a RAM area for user registered word dictionary, etc. CONSTITUTION:A RAM area 25 for priority information stores the priority information groups of word readings and the KANJI words having said reading. While a RAM area 26 for user registered word dictionary stores the user registered word dictionary stores the user registered word groups. In a KANA/ KANJI conversion mode, the priority information group having the reading of the corresponding word is written on the head of the area 25 with reference to the area 25 or 26 when the KANJI words are fixed to an input KANA character string. Therefore the priority information group already stored is shifted backward. Thus a memory for KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary, etc. can be miniaturized and at the same time the processing efficiency is improved for KANA/KANJI conversion by providing both areas 25 and 26. |
