PURPOSE:To improve friction, chipping and runnability by providing a top coat layer contg. specific components on the surface of a thin ferromagnetic film and forming a back coat layer of a coated film contg. an inorg. pigment, org. binder and lubricating agent thereby forming a magnetic recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The top coat layer contg. a radiation-curing oligomer having 2,000-10,000mol.wt., antioxidant and lubricating agent is provided on the surface of the thin ferromagnetic film. More specifically, sand additives are diluted with a solvent and the soln. is thinly coated on the thin ferromagnetic metallic film and is cured. The back coat layer is formed by coating the paint contg. the inorg. pigment, org. binder and lubricating agent. A radiation-curing resin is more preferably for the org. binder to be used in the back coat layer. The high- performance magnetic tape having an extremely good electromagnetic converting characteristic and reliable properties is thus obtd. |
