PURPOSE:To hold an always constant electrophotographic copied image density, by preventing variation of charging potential in the case of repeated uses of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:In the second rotation cycle of a photosensitive drum, (a) light quantity of a preexposure device 8 is lowered to <=1/5 of that of image exposure, (b) a charger 2 is actuated to uniformly charge the photoreceptor, (c) an image exposing device 3 is actuated by synchronizing it approximately to the charger 2 to form an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor, and (d)light of green range having a peak wavelength <=600nm is irradiated from a post-exposure device 9 to destaticize the photoreceptor. A necessary light quantity of this green light is about 1-1.5 times that of the image exposure. Variation of the static capacity of the photoreceptor is controlled by destaticizing it by use of both irradiation of light in red range with the device 8 and irradiation of light in green range with the device 9 after the start of the copying process. |
