A wear-resistant part for use in an internal-combustion engine is described, which comprises a base material layer of steel or cast iron, a layer induced by the effect of heat, a bonding layer and a layer of re-melted alloy. This structure is produced by providing a sintered iron alloy, which has been shaped and sintered in advance on the base material, and exerting hereupon a heat treatment, the layer induced by the effect of heat being formed in the surface of the base material, the base material being alloyed with the sintered iron alloy, which forms the bonding layer, and also the re-melted alloy layer being formed.
