Process for accelerating the drying of the coated surface or polymerising the powder coat in wet painting or powder coating. In the process the painted or coated articles (20) are connected as part of an electric current. The article (20) is heated using an electrical current (I1) by resistance to a temperature suitable for the drying of the coating or for the polymerisation of the powder layer. The heating current cables (14, 15) are connected to the mutually opposite ends (21, 22) of an elongated article, for example the bar (20) to be heated, by means of screws (16, 17) or the like, contact resistances being avoided. In the case of wet painting, the temperature of the article (20) is increased to approximately +60 to +80 DEG C, at which temperature the article (20) is held for approximately 0.5 to 2 hours. In the case of powder coating, the temperature of the article (20) is increased to approximately 180 to 200 DEG C, at which temperature the article (20) is held for approximately 15 minutes. A plurality of articles to be heated can be connected in series and/or in parallel, so that the density of the current running through the articles is suitable for the heating effect. … <IMAGE> … |
