A clamp (35, 36), the jaws of which are equipped with grippers (38, 39) made from a metal which is a good conductor of electricity and threaded so as to complement the thread of the threaded part (10) of the cap (4) of the apparatus (1), grips the apparatus (1) by way of this threaded part (10) of the cap (4), whilst the capsule (17) on the threaded end (10) of the cap (4) is pressed firmly and these parts are heated by the Joule effect. The clamp bears on a part (26) which itself bears on the frame (25) of the machine. The ceramic insulating part (2) of the apparatus is thus not subjected to any stress due to the pressure exerted during this welding operation. <IMAGE>
