PURPOSE:To prevent a generation of rusts caused by non-use of hot water heater for a long period of time by a method wherein a heating circulation pump is operated for a specified period of time counted from a starting of hot water heating operation. CONSTITUTION:In a main body 1 of hot water heater provided with a heat exchanger 11 connected to pipes 2, 2' for hot water supply, a heat exchanger 12 connected to the pipes 3, 3' for heater and burners 13, 14, a heating circulation pump 15 is operated for a specified period of time only when a first hot water supplying operation is started after the power supply is turned on under a control of control unit 27. The timer applied for this control operation is reset such that it is operated again when the hot water supplying operation is initiated to operate the circulation pump 15 if the hot water supplying operation is terminated within a specified period of time. When the heater is operated only once after the power supply is turned ON, the timer is reset similar to the case in which a specified period of time is passed to operate the heater and the circulation pump 15 is not energized in a subsequent hot water supplying operation. |
