In a pumping appliance, which has mountings for the stationary disposition of the pump on the bottom of a container, for example a collection tank for waste water, and in which the discharge line of the pump can be connected to a stationary delivery line via a connecting line, there is provided, as the connecting line, a pipe section which can be cut to length and has two connecting flanges for connecting to the discharge line of the pump on the one hand and the delivery line on the other hand. In this arrangement, at least one of the flanges can be displaced and clamped into position on the pipe which can be cut to length, and expediently consists of at least two parts which can be clamped against one another and against the pipe and which in turn, by means of sealing elements, can be joined in a pressuretight manner to the tube and, if required, at the same time to the counterflange.
