PURPOSE:To make the treating work on the surfaces of models before and after tests simple by disposing net-like bodies impregnated with discoloring reagents in tight contact with the surfaces of sample models in a wind tunnel, and diffusing a gas which changes the hues of the discoloring reagents by reacting with said reagents in the tunnel. CONSTITUTION:Net-like bodies such as fishing nets impregnated with discoloring reagents are disposed in tight contact with the surfaces of sample models 3-5 such as buildings, topographic configurations or the like in a see-through wind tunnel 1. After the velocity of wind is controlled at a desired value by driving a fan 6, gaseous ammonia of prescribed concns. is discharged through a gas pipeline 7 and is diffused by the wind. The arrival regions of the diffusion are known from the degrees of the change in the hues of the discoloring reagents of the models 3-5, whereby pollution such as atmospheric contamination is measured. The simplification of the work such as pre-treatment and post-treatment of the model surfaces and the considerable reduction in the number of steps are made possible by the disposition of the discoloring reagents held in the net-like bodies on the surfaces of the models 3-5. |
