METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING THE PARTS MAKING UP AN X-RAY ANODE, IN PARTICULAR A ROTATING ANODE

During the manufacturing of rotating anodes for X-ray tubes, consisting of a supporting body made of metal or refractory alloy and of one or more graphite parts, grooves (5) and orifices (6) are made in graphite parts (3) before welding. The grooves (5), which have preferably a semi-circular cross-section, are made on the surface (4) to be welded. The orifices (6) extend through the graphite parts and open perpendicularly to the graphite surface (4) in grooves (5). The excess of welding material and gas formed during welding may flow in the grooves and orifices or escape through them. An improved and stronger welded binding between the supporting body and the graphite parts is thereby achieved.
