A process for purifying dirty water is proposed, in which the impurities washed out of a screen drum are not passed directly into a receiver but are passed into the first sedimentation stage of a holding tank, into which all of the dirty water to be purified is also introduced. For faults, operation with fresh water can be maintained. With regard to an apparatus for purifying dirty water, the invention proposes sealing off the interior of the screen drum entirely from the reservoir lying beneath, so that even in the event of intense foam formation, no contamination of the service water can occur. <IMAGE> |
