In the device for heating a medium, in particular for preparing hot water, use is made of an accumulator (1) which is constructed over a portion (HD) of its height (HS) as a double-jacket accumulator and has a throughflow chamber (4) surrounding the lower part of the actual accumulator chamber (3). Waste water is conducted through the throughflow chamber (4), and its residual heat is used to preheat service water which is brought to its final temperature in the upper part of the accumulator chamber (3) by a heat pump (12). <IMAGE> |
