PURPOSE:To enable a movable unit to optionally regulate its speed, by adjusting an effective area and effective clearance in a lapped part between a fixed unit and the movable unit and changing shearing resistance of viscous grease, in the case of a speed regulating mechanism for a door closer or the like. CONSTITUTION:A tapered part 5a of a rotary drum 5 is opposed to lapping over a conical part 6a of a fixed drum 6, while a cylindrical part 5b is opposed to lapping over a shaft part 6b, and this lapped part serves for an effective clearance adjusting shearing resistance of viscous grease..An adjusting thread 9 is rotated, and if the fixed drum 6 is lowered inserting its shaft part 6b into the cylindrical part 5b while placing the conical part 6a to approach the tapered part 5a, a contact area of grease, brought into contact with both the drums 5, 6, increases, and the shearing resistance increases. Accordingly, the drum 5 moves in a slow speed. While an effective space in the lapped part between the drum 6 and the drum 5 changes in accordance with the lowering amount of the drum 6, and in accordance with the above the shearing resistance of the viscous grease is adjusted, consequently a rotary speed of the rotary drum 5 can be regulated. |
