The invention relates to a collision-prevention means for a movable unit or a movable part of a unit. In order to provide a collision-prevention means, in the case of which collision between units and/or benches is easily and reliably avoided, the invention provides that the unit or part (3) is provided, in the region to be protected, with a switching means (8) which has a first switching position, permitting movement of the unit or part, and at least one further switching position in which movement is interrupted, and that there is fitted, on the surface (2) of the unit or part (3), a flexible element (1) which contains an arrangement (7) which, depending on the distance from the switching means (8), transfers the latter into the various switching positions. When pressure is applied to the flexible element (1), fitted on a movable unit or part (3), the movement of the part (3) is automatically interrupted. <IMAGE>
