Method for improved utilisation of chemisorbents in gas purification plants

The invention relates to repeated use of chemisorbents for gas purification, particularly those reacting on the surface, such as, e.g. hydrated lime. It is known to recycle these chemisorbents after first-time use, into the chemisorption section where they are again able to absorb pollutants, but only in small amounts. The utilisation of the chemisorbents is improved by these being reprocessed, prior to recycling, in a steam-jet mill and being fed once more to the chemisorption appliance. Reprocessing in the steam-jet mill results not only in new surfaces being formed, owing to comminution of the particles, but these are, moreover, activated by moistening.
