A recording medium comprises a support having provided thereon a recording layer. The recording layer contains at least one material which has obtained by denaturation of a thermally coagulatable proteinaceous compound, and can be easily and quickly developed in an automatic sequence to produce a distinct recorded image over a wide range of conditions. It is stable over a long period of storage.
