Method and arrangement for supplying a combustion-promoting liquid medium (2) into the suction line of an internal combustion engine under the influence of the vacuum on the engine suction side. In a container (1) for the liquid medium (2) a partition wall (12) is arranged for separating a chamber (1A), in the lower portion of which a diffusor (5) is disposed, said diffusor by means of a connection (6) communicating with the surroundings. A conduit (7), the other end of which terminates in the suction line (8) of an internal combustion engine, opens into the upper portion of the container section (1A). Production of micro-bubbles takes place within the liquid volume in the chamber (1A) from which the air/liquid suspension also is sucked out to the internal combustion engine. By this means it is achieved, according to the invention, that the concentration of additive in the extracted air/liquid suspension can be maintained substantially constant or within fully acceptable limits regardless of the size of the container for the additive. In a modification of the arrangement in accordance with the invention, the partition wall (12) is designed as an essentially vertical cylinder (12A) which at its upper end is attached to the filling cover (4A) of the container and together with said filling cover forms a complete "bubble production unit" detachable from the container and including the diffuser unit (5) together with the means for connection to the suction side of the engine. |
