The device is intended for cutting pieces off a cheese (2) by means of a thin wire (3). It has a guide frame (1) for the wire, the cheese being held immovable relative to this member during cutting. - One end (4) of the wire is pref. fixed relative to the member (fixed 9 to the base 7) whilst the other end carries a handle, the cheese being placed between the wire and the frame such that, during cutting, the wire is pulled through the cheese whilst being guided in a plane at right angles to the cheese support.FL(2/3)
