摘要 <p>A hydrocarbon conversion process comprises contacting the hydrocarbon with an acidic catalyst composite comprising a porous carrier contg. on an elemental basis by wt. 0.01-2% Pt gp. metal, 0.05-5% Co, 0.01-5% Sn, 0.01-5% P and 0.1-3.5% halogen. The catalyst carrier is a refractory oxide, esp. alumina. The Pt gp. metal is esp. Pt, Pd, Ir or Rh, and the Sn is pref. present in a positive oxidation state. The atomic ratio of Sn:Pt gp. metal is 0.1-13:1 and that of Co:Pt gp. metal is 0.15-66:1. The halogen is pref. present as combined chloride. Reforming is pref. carried out in a water-free and sulphur-free environment at 800-1100 deg.F, 0-1000 psig., pref. 100-450 psig., LHSV of 0.1-10 and mole ratio H2:hydrocarbon of 1-20:1. The process is esp. for the reforming of gasoline fractions in the presence of hydrogen to produce a high octane reformate. In this and in other conversion processes, the catalyst shows better activity, selectivity and stability than prior art dual-function catalysts.</p>
