PURPOSE:To detect a biaxial attitude with one infrared rays detection element 7, by using a oval type reflection mirror provided inside a earth sensor. CONSTITUTION:Infrared rays from a view 3 of an earth sensor passing through a lens 5 are reflected by a rotary mirror 11 and an oval type reflection mirror 13 hitting an infrared rays detection element 6. As the rotary mirror 11 make a turn, the area for detecting the infrared rays in the view 3 of the earth sensor will be an oval type scanning area 4 because the reflection mirror 13 is oval as well as hollow. Thus, while the rotary mirror makes as turn, the oval type reflection mirror 13 is used to hit the infrared rays to the detection element 6 thereby permitting an oval type scanning and scanning at two points on the earth.
