The invention relates to a cyclone which is equipped with an apparatus for washing with liquid streams in order to improve the effectiveness of the separation of particles and to remove gaseous impurities. The spray nozzles installed in the cyclone outlet pipe form streams transverse to the gas throughflow, a rising liquid film on the pipe wall, and a water curtain which falls down from the pipe. The liquid flowing out is filtered for the removal of solids and is chemically treated before being returned.
