Determn. of radiant energy absorbed by material - esp. cotton clothing, which is exposed to heat and light so exoelectron emission can be monitored

The material is stimulated simultaneously by light and heat so it emits exoelectrons, which are analysed to determine the energy absorbed by the material. The absorbed energy pref. results from irradiation of the material, which is pref. organic, and esp. cotton, heated at a constant speed to max. 400 deg.C while exposed to light with a wavelength of min. 300 nm. The analysis of the exoelectrons pref. consists of counting their number per unit of time. The invention is used esp. in dosimetry, i.e. determn. of the radiation to which a human has been exposed by examination of the clothing worn by the human. If a person carrying no dosimeter is exposed to nuclear radiation, the severity of the latter can be determined by examination of his or her clothing.
