The production and preparation are described of spherical or approximately spherical vegetable products, in particular so-called Paris potatoes, which are produced from whole potatoes. In a first preparation step, the whole potatoes are cut into pieces having cubic or almost cubic shape. In a second preparation phase, these pieces or intermediate products are subjected to a frictional load, in order to rub off the edges and corners of the pieces, in order thus finally to obtain vegetable products circular in at least one cutting plane. Apparatus for carrying out the process is also described. |
