<p>A door handle (3) has a cylindrical boss (4) with a flared end (6) which facilitates its fastening to a door plate (1). The boss passes through a hole in the plate and has a square section hole (5) axially located to engage the square section drive shaft for the latch. A support ring (7) is mounted in the hole in the plate and allows the handle boss to be supported with its radial collar (9) located against a shoulder between the boss and handle. A Z-shaped washer (10) is located on the boss under the plate and is compressed by a small dia. washer (11) acting against the flared end of the boss, this takes up any play in the handle mounting assembly.</p> |
