A housing for electrical apparatuses is described which has inlet and outlet openings (13, 14) for cooling air. The said openings are arranged on only one side of the housing and are provided with a covering flap (10) which can pivot. In the open position, said covering flap (10) opens the air inlets and outlets but protects them against the ingress of water spray. When the covering flap (10) is in the closed position, all the openings (13, 14) in the housing are covered with respect to the exterior. <IMAGE>
