An apparatus for transferring parts, such as workpieces and workpiece carriers, from a first to a second conveying track is proposed, which has a curved deflection track whose transport elements, which are in the form of endless belts, carry the parts to be transferred, move them in the conveying direction and swing them about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the deflection path, said belts being tensioned over guide rollers on the outer and inner edge of the deflection track. This results in a simple construction of the apparatus in which the parts can also be transferred in a positionally accurate manner in accumulation mode and in which the transport elements can be easily exchanged. Furthermore, the invention is distinguished in that the deflection is possible with a smaller radius than in the case of the known apparatuses which use curve-negotiating belts or conical transport rollers as transport elements. <IMAGE>
