A rotor for a paper pulper is mounted in a wall of the stock container and provided with at least one screw-or helex-type conveyor element whose generatrix is aligned, at least in the vicinity of the wall carrying the rotor, with an oblique inclination relative to the rotor axis or parallel thereto. In this case, each conveyor element continues with its radially outer rim in a flanged attachment which extends radially away outwards under at most an acute angle from the perpendicular on the rotor axis. According to the invention, the peripheral edges of the conveyor elements and attachments are sharpened. This allows low-power operation of the rotor.
