The testing device has a sampling tube (1) with a central bore and a plate (6) attached to part of the way along the outside of the tube (1) for defining the insertion depth. The tube has an elongate slit (7) extending from the insertion end over a given height followed by one or more sets of holes arranged in a ring around the outside of the tube (1) both of which allow the cement to be received by the central bore when the tube is pushed into the freshly mixed cement. The tube (1) also has reference index for reaching off the height of the cement remaining in the bore when the tube is removed from the cement, used as an indication of the workability.PS.
