The invention relates to a method for correcting the angle of pitch of width-adjustable road-finishing beams, in which a main beam supported on drawing arms bears laterally extendable adjusting beams. In order that main beams and adjusting beams work with the same angle of pitch in the case of different thicknesses of the installed courses of road-covering material, and consequently the readjusting work necessary for different installation thicknesses can be omitted, it is envisaged according to the invention that working cylinders supported on the chassis of the road finisher are held in a floating position during the operation of the road finisher and are additionally acted upon with a pressure of variable size which counteracts the weight of the main beam. In practice, these measures can be implemented by the supply line to the lifting side of the working cylinders being continuously supplied with oil, and by the oil surplus being removed via a controllable pressure-limiting device. The pressure-limiting device can be automatically remote-controlled by a transmitter with a probe. Fig. 2 is particularly suitable for clarifying the invention. <IMAGE>
