The key-operated switch is provided with a switch housing (1) and with at least one switching element (2) which is fastened thereto and can be operated by force transmitting devices (16, 18) during rotation of the lock cylinder (3). In order that the production costs can be considerably reduced, even if the locking reliability is lower, it is proposed that the force transmitting devices (16, 18) have a part (16) which is supported such that it can rotate in the switch housing (1) coaxially with respect to the lock cylinder and is provided with a recess (17) for accommodating the end of the key shaft (shank) (11).
