A leisure compartment is characterised by a base (2) of a flexible, substantially water-resistant tarpaulin and foldable end walls (3) and side walls (4) made of flexible web material and connected firmly to the base (2), the end walls (3) and the side walls (4) forming a closed peripheral wall relative to the bottom (2) and having tabs in which corner bars (5), end-wall bars (7) and side-wall bars (6) are arranged, which bars can be driven, in the opened-out state of use of the arrangement, substantially vertically into the ground, supporting the peripheral wall and fixing the base (2). A covering tarpaulin (9) which is water-resistant, flexible, stowable and spreadable may be attached at the upper edge of one side wall. The leisure compartment provides an individual leisure area for a person requiring relaxation, who virtually cannot be seen from the outside when lying down. The closed peripheral wall provides optimum protection against wind and sand whilst allowing complete solar radiation from above when the covering tarpaulin is stowed away or is formed from a transparent material. <IMAGE>
