The invention deals with a face conveyor for longwall mining, in particular of coal, which carries a guide on the working-face side for a winning machine without a baseplate. The winning machine in turn has a guide rail bearing on the floor. The guide floor rail on the coal-face side or the conveyor support on the goaf side can alternatively be lifted from the floor by means of a control device on the goaf side. In order to prevent fine coal from flowing out of the bottom strand of the conveyor into the support area, a drag spill plate is linked on the goaf side under the conveyor side section. The edge of the drag spill plate on the coal-face side bears constantly on the floor roughly in the area of the conveyor side section on the coal-face side irrespective of the control movement of the control device. <IMAGE>
