<p>A process is disclosed for the preparation of a 1,2-dioxime of the general formula: (I) wherein A represents an aromatic group and R a hydrocarbyl group or a hydrogen atom, which process comprises the oximation of a hydroxyiminoketone of the general formula: (II) wherein A and R have the same meaning as in the general formula I and X and Y are different and represent an oxygen atom or a hydroxyimino group, in the presence of a nickel compound forming a complex with the 1,2-dioxime of the general formula I. The 1,2dioximes are useful as copper- and nickel- extractants.</p> |
