PURPOSE:To aim at rationalization in a tappet clearance, by forming a rocker arm from plural arm members being engaged with one another free of relative rotation, and installing a hydraulic rush to energize one end of each arm mem ber to a sense of mutually widening open. CONSTITUTION:First to third rocker arms 5-7 are mutually adjoined to a rocker shaft 8 at the lower part of a cam shaft and pivotally supported by this shaft 8. In this case, these first and third rocker arms 5 and 7 are set to the same form with each other, and formed each from respective main arms 9a, 9b and respective sub-arms 10a and 10b. And, a hydraulic rush adjuster 40 is embedded in each one end of these main arms 9a and 9b. And, these sub-arms 10a and 10b are pivotally attached to these main arms 9a and 9b at an intermediate part between a pivotal fulcrum to the rocker shaft 8 of these main arms 9a and 9b and a cam slipper, and one end is engaged with the ruch adjuster 40, while the other end is made contact with two suction valves.
